ZOMG: Zombie Oh My God

I don’t generally hide the fact that I love Game|Life, Wired’s gaming offshoot blog. And again, they do a fantastic job summarizing the recent dustup around Resident Evil 5′s Versus Mode. For those of you unawares of the problem, Earnest Cavalli sums up the issue for you:

Initially, from gamers who said the company should not be charging extra for a gameplay mode that is so simple and basic that it should be included with the retail release of the game.

More recently, we’ve heard outcry from gamers who believe the content is already on the disc and that purchasing the DLC merely snags an unlock code instructing the game to access the otherwise hidden content.

I implore you to read the full article, but I’ll summarize and rephrase the thesis: Who gives a shit.

  1. Zombie Oh My God = win. Nice one.

  2. Link doesn’t work dogg. I get the idea though.

Seriously, I’m not impressed with the PS3, but they need to compete better with the 360 online soon, or you’re going to need to use 800 MS points to unlock a save feature for some games. Greedy bastards.

  3. Whoops. Link fix’d

  4. Ha! Now I can read why I shouldn’t care.

Key or no key, you ARE paying (I’m guessing… 800 points?) for 1.8 MB’s of data. I’m almost certain Charlene by Steven And The Colbert’s is bigger. Pass.
