So, seeing that SuperHighRes isn’t a respected media outlet (yet!), we weren’t given the full skinny on today’s news on The Beatles: Rock Band. Fortunately, we read a lot, and the good people at Kotaku are a respected media outlet. They’re reporting the following packages will be available on the 9th:

• The Beatles: Rock Band Software – Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, Wii: $59.99 MSRP
• The Beatles: Rock Band Standalone Guitars – Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, Wii: $99.99 MSRP
• The Beatles: Rock Band Limited Edition Premium Bundle: Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, Wii: $249.99 MSRP

Interesting that the full band experience has jumped up about $70, and the guitar/game combo up about $20. I’m guessing these won’t be the instruments we’re used to, but that “bring your own instruments” is still a supported way of playing. Speculation is that the instruments will be Beatles themed, so collectors and Beatles fans will probably opt for more plastic instruments. I just hope it comes with a bass guitar strap that only allows it to be played one foot under your chin. For authenticity’s sake.

  1. You mean a Vig Strap? Don’t we already have those?

  2. Am I the only one that sees Brian V’s FB pic on Kevin’s comment? Weird.

Anyway, yeah I don’t see getting any more guitars, unless I’m seriously wow’d.

    Nice pic btw.

  3. LOL, yeah, a Vig strap.
Not sure on the pic. Chaulk it up to weird facebookery.

  4. [...] While there are still a lot of details to be worked out, such as what will be different in the game, we now know who the featured artists in Guitar Hero 5 will be, thanks to Activision releasing the list of artists. And it’s a big and diverse one. And may I add…. Fucking Elliott Smith AND Dire Straits? Guess I have to get the damn game now… (Ed. Note — Vampire Weekend still sucks). Guitar Hero 5 hits September 1st, about one week before that other music game… [...]
