Harmonix and Sony today announced Rock Band Unplugged for the PSP system. That’s right, dust that bad boy off, as there might be something to play on it again (other than God of War). While details are scant so far, Sony is boasting that it will have a fully-featured online download store via Wi-Fi, so it should have the expandability that made Rock Band so successful on the home consoles.
What will it play like is the only remaining question. However, Harmonix’s Dan Teasdale may have let a hint go on Twitter:
…happy that Rock Band Unplugged is announed. Phrase-based lane-switching beatmatch lives again!
Ooooo, lane switiching? Sony announces this? Could we be seeing a spiritual sequel to the Amplitude/Frequency series? PLEASE?!!? I am hyped!
